AGM 2025 - Nominee INFO

The purpose of this information sheet is to find out more about the nominees standing for elected Club Officer roles held at Millwall for Season 2025/26.

CLUB MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE (CMC)

CLUB CHAIRMAN

Nominee(s): Kate Roy

  • I would be honoured to have your vote for Chairman once again. This past season taught me a lot about the club's strengths and challenges and am excited to build on that experience with you all.

    If re-elected, my priorities include:
    - Developing our youth and senior sections to ensure a strong future for the club
    - Growing membership and sponsorship
    - Ensuring our facilities meet members' needs
    - Strengthening community ties

I'm committed to listening to members and working collaboratively to achieve our goals. I'm proud of what we've achieved so far, and I'm eager to continue serving the club.

SECRETARY

Nominee(s): Meg Roy

Having served as Secretary for the past year, I have gained valuable insight into the role and its responsibilities. This experience has provided me with a solid understanding of what the position entails, while also highlighting areas where I can grow further to best support our club. With the ongoing changes we are navigating as a club, I believe maintaining continuity in the is vital. My continued presence would allow us to build on the progress already made and move forward in a positive direction, ensuring stability as we adapt and evolve. Above all, my commitment remains to serve the club to the best of my ability, striving to create a welcoming, organized, and thriving environment for everyone involved.

TREASURER

Nominee(s): Seb VILLARD

After 10 years in the club and 8 on Committee, I have stepped up last year as treasurer and keen to continue doing it. I made the role simpler by tidying up and automating reporting. The main objectives for next season will be to sort out the lease with Tower Hamlet and find new sponsors.

LADIES CHAIR

Nominee(s): Hannah Van Hesteren

I joined the Club in August 2023 as a complete beginner and have really enjoyed it - thanks in part to our Ladies Chair at the time. I'm a Manager and Engagement professional at work, so fostering an inclusive environment where people can thrive feels like a helpful way for me to use my skills for the good of the Club. Last season I ran several well-received engagement sessions with Venus and believe I can be an effective advocate for the diverse voices among the team. I will be up front and say I am planning to move house later in the year, and am not yet certain what that means for my availability over the entire season, so I'd want people to consider that when voting of course.

Nominee(s): Hennah khan

I’m standing for this role because I’m passionate about rugby and committed to supporting the growth and success of women in sport. I want to help create a space where every player feels valued, motivated, and proud to be part of something bigger.
Professionally and personally, I’m used to juggling responsibilities and staying organised. I have experience managing group projects, handling communications, and keeping things on track under pressure. I know how important it is to stay calm and clear when things get busy, and I’m confident I can bring that to this role. But more than that, I’m approachable, reliable, and always willing to listen.
Ultimately, I’m putting myself forward because I care deeply about the success and wellbeing of this team. I want to help create an environment where everyone feels supported, respected, and excited to show up, train hard, and play even harder. I’d be proud to take on this role and help the team thrive both on and off the pitch.

MEN'S CHAIR

Nominee(s): Angus Green

Having been at the club for a few years now and getting to know the playing squad on and off the field, I feel I am in a good position to be able to take this role on and bring the club forward. I have also built a good report with the Venus team, which would help with various decisions around the club, be it scheduling, equipment or kit. I also have a very level head with making decisions and will always here all sides of any arguments/discussions before making my opinion known.

YOUTH CHAIR

Nominee(s): CHARLIE ANDERSON.

I'm standing for re-election as Youth Chair for one final season to ensure a smooth transition of leadership. I'm pleased to have identified my successor and will dedicate this year to a comprehensive handover, ensuring they're fully prepared to take the reins.

My priorities for the coming season include:

  • Strengthening our connections with other clubs to create more opportunities for friendly matches and festivals for our young players

  • Finalising the organisational structure of our youth section with dedicated leads for key areas including clubhouse and kitchen operations, match setup, and fixtures coordination

  • Building sustainable systems that will set up our youth section for long-term success beyond my tenure

I believe this transitional season is crucial for maintaining continuity while introducing fresh perspectives. With your support, I can complete this important handover period and leave our youth section in capable hands with strong foundations for the future.

CLUBHOUSE OFFICER

Nominee(s): Adrian Williams

I’d like to stand for this role next season because I want all our members to enjoy their time with us at the Club. I’d like the players in all sections to have facilities that work for them, and the social side to be warm and welcoming.

COMMUNICATIONS OFFICER

Nominee(s): NONE RECEIVED

CLUB SAFEGUARDING OFFICER

Nominee(s): Dr James Taylor

  • As a GP partner I already have experience in this role. I am child and adult safeguarding lead at 2 GP surgeries responsible for 16,000 patients. I am up to date in my certification, learning and compulsory updates. I actively already participate in with wider safeguarding teams and am familiar with the processes and pathways.

WIDER CLUB MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE (WIDER CMC)

MEN’S 1ST TEAM MANAGERS

Nominee(s): Daniel Elphinstone

After 2 fantastic seasons with the club, I am hoping to be more involved in bringing the club forward, keeping the positive momentum going from the last season and getting more players involved across the club.

MEN’S 2ND TEAM MANAGEr

Nominee(s): Emanuele Giancola

I’ve been with Millwall since 2019, and over the years the club has become a big part of my life. I’ve played an honest number of games, had some cracking nights out, and met some great people, and now I’d like to give a bit more back. I think I can bring a bit of structure, good comms, and positive energy to the 2s. I’m organised, I care about the team, and I want to help keep things running smoothly. It’s a great group, and I’d love to help keep the momentum going and support the squad however I can.

FIXTURE SECRETARY

Nominee(s): None received.

SOCIAL SECRETARY

Nominee(s): Dale Sewell & ALEX LIDDELL

Building on this incredibly successful 24/25 season Dale and I are keen to continue this success for the 25/26 season. Looking ahead, we’re keen to maintain and grow the great buy-in we’ve had from both the men’s and ladies’ teams. Social events are a vital part of what makes Millwall special and strengthen our club culture both on and off the pitch.

Social Events

  • Keeping tried-and-true activities (Jenga, Gaucho, fancy dress) as a foundation.

  • Curated themed nights

  • Maintaining Thirsty Thursdays, especially in summer.

Expanding Variety & Inclusivity

  • Proposing alternative events like curry nights, comedy evenings, karaoke, Bongo’s Bingo, and more.

  • Flexibly planning monthly events to cater to members' interests and schedules.

  • Ensuring a voice for both men’s and ladies’ teams, as well as engaging with the youth (e.g. Darts event from last year).

Flagship Events

  • Continue to deliver high-quality events like the Start of Season Social, Halloween, Christmas Party, and End of Season Dinner.

Above all, our goal is to ensure Millwall Rugby Club remains the most fun, welcoming, and inclusive team in London — a place where everyone feels part of the community and can let their hair done in a safe and enjoyable environment
