The Railway Arches on Millwall Park

LINKS TO PHOTOS (BELOW).

There are 6 bricked up arches at the southern (Island Gardens) end of the old railway viaduct that runs along the western edge of Millwall Park.

A plan is shown below. From left to right (south to north) the arches were previously used as follows:
Arch 1 - A storage area for goal posts and parks machinery.
Arch 2 - entry and office for Arch 1.
Arch 3 - formerly a cafe
Arch 4 - 4 changing rooms for sports teams
Arch 5 - Showers and toilets for the changing rooms
Arch 6 - 4 changing rooms for sports teams (same as Arch 4)

Millwall Rugby Club has been allocated Arches 1 and 2 (marked 0040 and 0050 on the plan below).
The Docklands Settlement has been allocated Arches 3 & 4 and George Green's School has been allocated Arches 5 & 6.

On the following pages are a selection of photos taken of the arches and the work that has been done. They are organised by the date on which they were taken.
